We love a walk as much as the next dog and Lottie and Charlie are really good at taking us for walks. But there is room for improvement. Our first resolution is to train them to walk nicely on a loose lead. They are far too slow and drag behind us a lot of the time. We find ourselves pulling them along which is no fun for any of us. You would think that they would learn to walk faster to stop their arms hurting.
Pickle has got Lottie quite well trained, she is now allowed to give a treat to Pickle when she walks next to her. Charlie needs a lot more work, he gets very distracted by things, particularly planes.
Going into 2021 we want a more balanced diet. By balanced we mean an equal amount of food and treats, and definitely more cheese. Also, we are stopping this breaking a biscuit in half and pretending we are getting two. We see you!
One thing that 2020 taught us was how important it is to look after ourselves. So, we are planning more ‘me time’ For Pickle that means a nice long soak in a mud bath. Nothing is quite as fun or relaxing and it is wonderful for her fur! It’s going on her 2021 planner for at least twice a week.
The average dog needs between 12 and 14 hours of sleep a day. Well, cockapoos aren’t average; we need way more and to get that we need to be comfortable. So, for 2021 we are planning on spending more time in the person’s big bed. Yes, we are crate trained, yes we love our crate cover and yes we love going in our crates. But have you seen that bed upstairs? It is massive and it is oh so cosy with its duvets and cushions. We think this is an easily achievable resolution. Use your big puppy eyes and cry a little at the bottom of the stairs, works every time.
A classic New Years Resolution this one. Drink more water, collect more water in your beard, and play in more water. The people love a wet cockapoo beard as much as they love wet paw prints. You know what you need to do!

That just leaves it for me to wish you are very healthy and happy 2021.

A crate can become your puppies favourite place to sleep, enjoy some quiet time out or just to have a lovely snooze. If your dog ever has to go on crate rest after an operation, they will already love their crate which will make the whole thing far easier your them and you. They can also be a useful aid for toilet training.

Imagine the delight on your dog’s face when they realise that you, the person they love more than anyone has made them biscuits.
Even better, you will have their undivided attention from the minute you start baking until their dog biscuits are cool enough to eat. They already thought you were the best thing since sliced cheese but now you have really got them!
